Component 1: Value chain infrastructure finances infrastructure supporting the agriculture economy by improving transport for agriculture inputs and outputs and logistics facilities for agriculture commodity value chains in 50 Economic Poles in 12 provinces of Cambodia.

Component 1 targets the increase in poor rural people’s benefits from market participation. Physical outputs include: 650 km of rural roads rehabilitated or upgraded (DBST or Concrete Surfacing), 150 km of farm access road (laterite roads) , and around 50 rural market areas and 25 agricultural products collection points and ferry crossings improved or rehabilitated. Infrastructure subprojects are selected based on local demand, sustainable development criteria, environmental and social safeguards, and the ability to stimulate public and private investment and growth in value chains supported by ongoing programs, including ASPIRE and AIMS.

The component 1 is implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development and relevant Sub-National Departments and communities.
