SAAMBAT contributes to sustainably reducing multi-dimensional poverty and enhancing food security in rural areas of Cambodia, by  increasing productivity and incomes of the rural households, women, youth and other vulnerable groups, and supporting rural enterprises and economy.

SAAMBAT and all project partners serve as a platform for an integrated package of support to the poor/smallholder farmers and laborers, and rural low income and vulnerable people by increasing their labour productivity, and market and business connectivity, whilst equipping the workforce with skills required to participate in the modern economy and rural enterprises.

Building on the programmatic approach, SAAMBAT cooperates closely with the Agriculture Extension and Climate Resilience (ASPIRE) project and Accelerating Inclusive Markets for Smallholders (AIMS) project in 50 target areas (known as the Economic Poles) in 12 provinces.

SAAMBAT also builds a strong partnership and synergy with IFAD, EIB, EU and other government and Development Partners’ funded projects in rural areas led by relevant sector Ministries, such as the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MoWRAM), Ministry of Commerce (MoC), and Ministry of Environment (MoE), etc.
