Kampot-Takeo Province: On May 4-5, 2024 the delegation of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) led by Mr. Donal Brown, IFAD Associate Vice-President, accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, ASPIRE-AT Program Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, AIMS Project of the Ministry of Commerce and SAAMBAT Of the Ministry of Rural Development inspected the construction of rural roads and community landing facility port and met with the communities who benefited from the three projects in Prey Phav and Trapeang Thom villages, Ronam commune, Traing district, Takeo province and Bos Trabek village, Trapeang Pring commune, Teuk Krahorm village, Kandal Commune, Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province.

During the visit, Mr. Donal Brown and his accompanying delegation inspected the construction of a 3-km DBST rural road connecting from National Road No. 2 to Prey Phav Village, Ronam Commune and community landing facility port in Kbal Po Village, Sambour commune, Traing district under construction of SAAMBAT project implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development. They also met with local authorities and raising chickens and hatching chickens groups supported by the AIMS project. Afterwards, the delegation inspected the activities of selling agricultural products at the weekend market in Kampot city and inspected the construction activities of 11.34 km long DBST and concrete roads (Kbal Romeas-Chakrei Ting) which connecting from National Road 3 to Teuk Chhou District Hall and Street 33, and met with local authorities and vegetable growers in Bos Trabek village, Trapeang Pring commune, supported by ASPIRE program and also chicken raising group supported in Teuk Krahorm village, Kandol Commune, Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province.

During the discussion with beneficiaries from the 3 projects, they expressed that they are happy with the supports on the DBST rural and concrete roads that facilitate their transportation of agricultural products to market together with technical capacity training on animal husbandry and agriculture cultivation. With this, the local authorities and the beneficiaries also thanked the 3 ministries mobilized fund resources to develop rural infrastructure and support high-yielding farming and animal husbandry with market demand which are key factors to increase income generation.
