On October 19-20, 2023, Mr. Touch Siphat, Deputy Director General of Administration and Finance of Ministry of Rural Development and Project Manager of Sustainable Asset for Agriculture Market, Business, And Trade (SAAMBAT) led the technical and social-environmental working unit with the participation of the SP1 construction company (ECI-SBPH JV), and local authorities (village and commune) to inspect the construction site of 2 rural roads and the construction site of a rural market as follows:
Lot 1: (Ta Sous-Tanou) has a length of 3.20 km, a type of double-paved road DBST in Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province. The progress of the construction has achieved 32.71%.
Lot 2: (Prek Taben-Svay Damnak) is a 5.93 km DBST road in Khsach Kandal district, Kandal province. The progress of the construction has reached 14.63% and is planned to finish 100% by January 2024.
Rural market renovation site (Svay Chrum market) includes the construction of a toilet, which has achieved 75%, is scheduled to be 100% completed in January 2024.
After reviewing the technical specifications and construction of roads and markets, the PMU recommended the following construction companies:
– Accelerate the construction of the above two roads according to the planned plan.
– Increase the number of constructions to ensure both quality and quantity.
– Check the drainage system on both sides of the road to avoid water blockage on any part of the road.
– Prepare safety system and pit location.
– Must cooperate with local authorities to prepare for the recruitment of workers to help with steeling work and planting grass along the sidewalks.
– Be prepared to put up traffic safety signs to protect additional safety at the construction site and to disseminate to people who travel through the site at night to avoid possible accidents.
