(Kampong Cham Province) On Wednesday, 05 January 2022, Mr. Han Kosal, Deputy Provincial Governor in charge of Rural Development, and Mr. Touch Siphat, SAAMBAT Project Manager, presided over the provincial Multi-Stakeholder Meeting (MSP) to select and confirm the Phase 2 Economic Poles (EP) and infrastructure sub-projects of the Sustainable Assets for Agriculture Market, Business and Trade (SAAMBAT) project in Kampong Cham Province. The MSP was attended by 20 participants (04 women) from the SAAMBAT Project Team PMU and PIU, Provincial Authority and District Administration (Kampong Siem), Provincial Department of Rural Development (PDRD), Provincial Department of Women’s Affairs, Provincial Department of Commerce (PDoC), Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF), Commune Administrations and the representatives of Women, and the ASPIRE and AIMS project teams in Kampong Cham Province.
The National and Provincial SAAMBAT Project Team, and District Governors presented: i) SAAMBAT priority activities, definition and criteria for selection of EPs and Sub-Projects; and ii) Prioritization of EPs and Sub-Projects for consideration by the MSP participants for implementation in Phase 2 in Kampong Cham Province. The MSP confirmed the Kampong Seam Districts region as the Phase 2 EP. In this EP, there are 30,839 beneficiary households with a total population of 124,701 persons (63,702 women). There are 13 households who are members of the ASPIRE Farmers Cluster, and 26 households members of AIMS Business Clusters. In EP, 1,027 persons 759 (Women) are identified as poor and very vulnerable peoples.
